Dick Sing
has always enjoyed working with wood. He loves to try a different species of wood or utilize wild
and fancy grain patterns. Each tree, shrub, or bush has it's own mystery and could be a treasure
trove to unlock.
As a demonstrator and instructor, he strives to guide the average turner
and share his many ideas. Since not everyone owns the many chucks, tools, or accessories that can be
found in the latest catalogs, he enjoys explaining basic ways to solve turning problems with what is at
hand.
In 1989, Dick's avocation became his vocation
when he became a professional woodturner. He combines the dexterity and skill required by his former
work in tool and die and quality control with the eye of an artist, capable of new design and
variations upon seeing something that sparks his imagination. |
